Talking to media here Wednesday, Deputy Director Sports, Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women University Mariyyah Samin said that all arrangements in this connection have already been completed and the record numbers of 29 teams from different educational institutions across Pakistan are taking part. It is for the first time that such a record number of 29 Universities teams are taking part with Director of Sports Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women University would ensure all out facilities to the female players and officials.
She said the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Badminton Association, Director General Sports Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Junaid Khan and Director Sports PSB Coaching Center Mumtaz Ahmad Nadeem have extended all out support in holding the prestigious Championship. Miss Mariyyah Samin said that a total of 232 players and 59 officials are here to whom accommodation have been provided in the hostels of University of Peshawar, Director of Sports and PSB Coaching Center.
She said that the matches will be played on best of 3 (three) basis apart from Quarter-finals, Semi-finals and Finals to be played on best of 5 (five) basis. The opening ceremony of the Championship, she said, will be held on Thursday at 11.00 A.M with Vice Chancellor SBBWU Dr. Razia Sultana will grace the occasion as chief guest and will formally inaugurate.
